Simplifier: The amplifier pedal used by Foo Fighters and Los Bunkers wins the award in Chile
The innovative pedal-amplifier developed by the Chilean company DSM and Humboldt was honored with the Avonni Culture Ibanez-Atkinson Foundation Award 2025. Mustach, the national association of technology in music, highlights the milestone as a success case to attract more investors and talent to join the musictech industry.
At the Avonni Awards 2025, as every year, prizes were awarded in 20 categories to the most remarkable national innovation and technology. And of course, the creative industry was no exception, as Simplifier, a product by the Chilean company DSM & Humboldt, was recognized as the most outstanding cultural project at a national level for this year.
This refers to the "Avonni Award Culture Ibáñez-Atkinson Foundation" category, from the contest organized by Avonni in conjunction with the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation, as well as El Mercurio and TVN; and that anointed Simplifier as the most outstanding project in 2025 for the cultural and creative industry. The final shortlist was completed by Non-Conventional Classical and the Educational Theater of the Arts of Panguipulli.
"Simplifier is an amp-pedal that allows musicians and enthusiasts to emulate legendary amplifiers from history through an analog mechanism. This hardware, especially for guitarists, has managed to captivate the ears of several stars in the music scene, even being used by bands like Foo Fighters and Los Bunkers."

Manuel Acevedo, co-founder and CEO of DSM & Humboldt, highlights that "this distinction is a demonstration that the music technology industry is a niche in which Chile can be not only a participant, but a reference. The interim president of Mustach, Edgardo González, emphasizes that it is imperative as a guild that innovation in the music industry continues to gain more and more ground. There are many national companies that are creating innovative products and services on an international level, and a great example of this is Simplifier by DSM & Humboldt ".
The representative from Mustach also adds that there is a lot of talent in the musictech ecosystem in Chile and a significant challenge is to increasingly have investors who bet on companies of this type. Currently, we are in the midst of articulating the ecosystem, supporting the internationalization of these companies, their participation in national and international fairs, and sealing alliances with equivalent guilds around the world, such as Europe and Brazil.
