Now, cultural actors in Southwest Finland can also create their own profiles on the platform and offer services such as performances and workshops.

OCTOBER 2025.- The Cultural Bank, which is expanding to almost national coverage, will open to artists in Southwest Finland this October. The online service increases employment opportunities for professionals in the arts and culture sector by making their services visible and easy to book.

This free digital platform brings together creative professionals. Now, cultural actors in Southwest Finland can also create their own profiles on the platform and offer services such as performances and workshops. Clients, in turn, can find professionals from a wide area with a single search at kulttuuripankki.fi.

"There’s so much that art and culture professionals can offer, but the market doesn’t work efficiently. The Cultural Bank helps fix that — it brings new job opportunities for creators and makes cultural procurement more visible," says Henri Terho, Head of Unit at the Arts Promotion Centre Finland.

Developed under the leadership of the City of Tampere as a regional collaboration in Pirkanmaa, the service will expand during the autumn to Southwest Finland and thirteen other regions. Swedish and English versions of the site will further enhance the international visibility of cultural professionals.

"It’s fantastic that this online service will soon cover almost the entire country. Turku is constantly creating new opportunities for cultural experiences and encounters, so we were eager to join in. The Cultural Bank will make art and culture even more accessible to everyone in Turku," says Niina Niemi-Nagy, Senior Specialist at the City of Turku’s Cultural Promotion Unit.

"The expansion of the Cultural Bank to Southwest Finland is a significant step in developing the region’s cultural sector. We have a wide range of expertise across the region, and this service connects creators and clients in a completely new way. The shared platform strengthens the vitality of culture and the creative industries throughout Southwest Finland," adds Erika Mäkeläinen, Planner at the Regional Council of Southwest Finland.

Artists and cultural professionals in the region can register on the website starting October 27, 2025. The platform is expected to include around 6,000 professionals, over 4,000 available services, and around 1,000 registered clients.

The expansion of the Cultural Bank is coordinated by the City of Tampere, with technical implementation by Red & Blue Oy. Funding has been provided by the Ministry of Education and Culture through the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). Municipalities and regions will jointly cover the operating costs of the online service.
