Business Turku invites companies to explore growth opportunities in Pomerania, Poland
Business Turku invites Turku-based companies to participate in a delegation visiting the Pomerania region of Poland from April 15-17, 2026. The registration deadline is March 25.
With a population of over 38 million and rapidly increasing investments in infrastructure and industry, Poland has emerged as one of the most dynamic growth markets in Europe. Particularly noteworthy is the acceleration of the blue economy, driven by developments in offshore energy, maritime industries, and marine technologies.
To help Finnish companies access these opportunities, Business Turku is organizing a three-day export and business delegation to the cities of Gdańsk and Gdynia — a key maritime hub in the Baltic Sea region.
A gateway to the Baltic’s industrial core
The Pomeranian region stands out as one of Northern Europe’s most important clusters for shipbuilding and offshore industries. It hosts a strong ecosystem of shipyards, marine engineering companies, and a fast-growing offshore wind sector.
During the visit, participating companies will gain direct access to local industry players, development organizations, and pre-selected potential partners through curated B2B meetings.
Among the highlights:
- A company visit to the CRIST shipyard
- Meetings facilitated by the Enterprise Europe Network
- A visit to Baltic Towers, a key player in offshore wind infrastructure
- Networking with Finnish companies exploring the same market
Why Poland and why now?
Poland’s growth is not only driven by its large domestic market but also by its strategic positioning within Europe’s industrial and energy transition.
For companies operating in:
- Maritime and offshore industries
- Renewable energy, especially wind
- Smart infrastructure and industrial solutions
The timing is critical. The country is scaling investments that will define its industrial landscape for the coming decades.
The power of delegation
According to Business Turku, entering a new market as part of a coordinated delegation significantly increases impact.
"When companies approach a market together as a national group, doors open more easily. Local stakeholders engage more seriously, meetings are easier to arrange, and discussions move faster toward concrete opportunities," the organizers note.
Beyond market access, participants also benefit from peer learning and shared insights with other Finnish companies at similar stages of internationalization.
Lowering the barrier to entry
The program organized in Poland, including company visits and matchmaking. Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and meal expenses.
For businesses considering expansion into Poland in the near future, the delegation offers a highly efficient way to validate opportunities, build partnerships, and accelerate market entry.
Application deadline: March 25, 2026
As Europe’s industrial landscape shifts toward sustainability and offshore energy, regions like Pomerania are becoming strategic entry points for growth-oriented companies. Initiatives like this delegation aim to ensure that Finnish firms are not just observers — but active players in that transformation.
