Chile's first air-purifying concrete revolutionizes the construction industry

This is HormiPurifica, developed between the startup Photio and Polpaico Hormigones, the first concrete capable of degrading greenhouse gases, recognized with first place in the "Outstanding Partner 2025" award during the Green Building Council Week.

Polpaico Hormigones, part of Polpaico Soluciones, in collaboration with the startup Photio, developed HormiPurifica, a revolutionary product that degrades greenhouse gases, becoming the first material of its kind in Chile.

This material incorporates Photio, a nanotechnological additive that, when activated by light on the concrete surface, degrades pollutants such as methane (CHu2084) and carbon monoxide (CO), transforming them into inert compounds. Its environmental impact earned it the recognition of "Outstanding Partner 2025" at the Green Building Week, an event organized by the Chile Green Building Council, which brings together the main players in the sector.
