Slush, the most iconic startup and technology event in Europe, returns in 2024 with an ambitious edition in Helsinki. Since its humble origins in 2008 with 250 participants at Aalto University in Helsinki, Slush has grown exponentially to become one of the most influential platforms globally.
This year, the participation of about 13,000 attendees is expected, including founders, investors, executives, and tech journalists from around the world, ready to discover the trends and emerging technologies that are setting the pace in the innovation ecosystem.

A Bit of History
Slush started as a small event in Finland in 2008, organized by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, with the aim of strengthening the local startup ecosystem. Its rapid growth has been a reflection of the expansion and maturity of the technology sector in Nordic countries.
Over the years, Slush has not only established itself as a must-attend event for industry leaders, but it has also inspired other initiatives in cities such as Tokyo and Shanghai.

Women will also have a prominent role at Slush 2024, among some of the speakers present are: Lila Tretikov and Laura Spiekerman.
Lila Tretikov, partner and AI strategy chief at NEA, is renowned for her expertise in technology and her work in high-profile companies, such as Microsoft and the Wikimedia Foundation.
For her part, Laura Spiekerman is a co-founder and president of Alloy, an identity risk management company that has gained recognition in the fintech sector.
