Health Incubator Helsinki opens applications: seeking startups solving healthcare challenges

Health Incubator Helsinki has opened applications for the sixth edition of Finland’s long-term incubation program for health sector startups and research-based teams. The incubator is looking for innovative teams, both Finnish and international, in the early stages of health-related entrepreneurship to join its unique program. The new cohort of startups will begin the program in May 2025.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Applications for Health Incubator Helsinki are open from March 3 to March 31, 2025. Selected teams will be contacted in early April for interviews, after which 10 to 12 startups will be chosen for the program starting in May 2025.
Teams or startups applying must consist of at least two founders with a clearly defined idea addressing a health-related problem. Applicants are also expected to have an established company. However, exceptions may be made if the team is ready to register a company within three months of acceptance into the program.

Health Incubator Helsinki
Launched in 2020 by the City of Helsinki and the University of Helsinki, Health Incubator Helsinki aims to drive the commercialization and growth of research innovations into successful businesses.
Currently, 26 teams are developing their business operations at the incubator, located at Terkko Health Hub in the Helsinki University Hospital (HUS) area. Since 2020, startups selected for the program have raised over €40 million in funding, with two companies achieving successful exits. In 2024, Health Incubator Helsinki startups secured a total of €11 million in funding.
