Tupuna Moai: Begins its flight at the Cappadocia International Balloon Festival
The hot air balloon inspired by the Rapa Nui culture made its debut in the skies of Turkey at the beginning of the Cappadocia Journey.
The Dream Here - Sueña Aquí Sports Foundation and Organization shares the first images of Tupuna, the moai-shaped hot air balloon representing Chile at the prestigious Cappadocia International Balloon Festival in Turkey, one of the most important events in the world in this category. This participation is part of the CAPADOCIA JOURNEY campaign, which aims to project national culture and tourism on international stages.
Tupuna, whose name in Rapa Nui language means "the living face of the ancestors", impresses not only for its culturally iconic design, but also for its dimensions: 3,100 m³ in volume and 34 meters in height, equivalent to a 10-story building u201412 meters taller than the Monumental Lighthouse of La Serena.
After its journey through Turkey, the balloon will travel to the Albuquerque International Balloon Festival (United States), the largest in the world, which will take place between October 4th and 12th, before returning to Chile, visiting Rapa Nui, and embarking on a national tour.

"Flying over the picturesque topography of Cappadocia is like sailing in a dream: unique rock formations, endless valleys, and hues that change with the dawn light create an indescribable visual spectacle. The weather is a perfect ally, with clear skies, gentle breezes, and stable conditions that allow you to fully enjoy every moment in the air," noted the pilot, Luiz Paulo Gnecco Rodrigues de Assis.
"The organization of the festival is impeccable: from the logistics to the coordination of the flights, everything has been planned with great professionalism. The atmosphere among pilots, teams, and the audience is one of camaraderie and celebration. Participating with the Tupuna Moai on this emblematic stage is more than a presentation: it's a cultural exchange and a showcase to display the creativity and craftsmanship behind each balloon," he added.
In parallel, the organization keeps the raffle open to live this experience. The prizes - in their three categories - include tickets, accommodation, and a hot air balloon ride for two people in Cappadocia. The draw, whose first phase ended on July 30 - without winners as the minimum threshold indicated in the rules was not reached - now continues in its second stage and will close on September 15. The rules and conditions are available at https://travesias.ungloboentuciudad.com/.

In addition, 100 tethered flights will be raffled in Chile: controlled experiences with tethering ropes, which allow safe ascents and descents to appreciate the flight without displacement. Those who emerge winners and do not wish to ascend in the balloon can equally enjoy the unique spectacle a sky covered with balloons offers from the ground.
