IBM Quantum Challenge 2024: Quantum Challenge for Developers Launched
The educational event is focused on teaching the world how quantum computing scientists use Qiskit.
IBM is introducing the Quantum Challenge 2024, the annual coding challenge, which is also an educational event focused on teaching the world how quantum computing scientists use Qiskit.
This year’s challenge is about Qiskit 1.0 and is focused on quantum utility experiments. The event is set to start on June 5, and people who are interested in participating can prepare by learning about Qiskit 1.0 and quantum computing on the IBM Quantum Learning Platform.
As with the previous challenges, the IBM Quantum Challenge 2024 is designed so that anyone can participate, regardless of their experience. Whether it’s someone new to the area or a computer experienced, there’s something about the challenge for everyone.
IBM hopes the challenge will help better understand what it means to do quantum utility experiments at scale with Qiskit, with 100 or more qubits, and practice the steps to perform them. The challenge is also an opportunity to learn about some of the latest new quantum features and developments, including integrations with the Artificial Intelligence of IBM watsonx. And, for a fun twist, the contents follow a bird mystery that inspired IBM’s quantum hardware nomenclature.
