London Tech Week 2025: Chile takes big steps to expand its global innovation partnerships
With the UK being one of Chile's top export markets in Latin America, the two countries enjoy a strong and growing trading relationship.
With the UK and Chile currently having two free trade agreements in place: the UK-Chile Association Agreement and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), Chile’s recent participation in London Tech Week 2025 was a week filled with valuable learning experiences.
Partnering with the UK Department of Business & Trade and Kaiku, ProChile, Chile’s Trade Promotion Agency, brought a cohort of five tech companies to the UK’s capital city to enable them to gain first-hand insight into the UK’s dynamic innovation landscape and the many opportunities the city offers for technological development and international expansion.

The five tech companies representing Chile were: KPI Football, an advanced data analytics platform to optimise decision-making in football; Beeok, a technology platform that helps companies measure their carbon footprint; DHEMAX, a company specialising in fleet electrification; Movizzon, which provides automated monitoring of digital channels to measure and improve user experience (UX) and finally VMOVE, a platform that helps improve costs, time efficiency, greater safety and control for greener event transportation.
"The UK stands out as a global hub for innovation, offering a strategic gateway to Europe and beyond. During the visit to London, our companies discovered the strength of the UK’s public-private incentives and a vibrant ecosystem that supports startups and scaleups;" pointed out Director of ProChile in the United Kingdom, Nicolás Poblete who accompanied the delegation during their recent visit to London.
"The week not only highlighted the potential of Chilean innovation on the global stage but also reminded us of some of the challenges ahead as we take the next steps in our journey towards it", add Nicolás Poblete.
With 30 global trade agreements in place and with business links in 65+ countries, representing 88% of the world’s GDP, Chile is known for its open, pro-business sentiment and its focus on innovative solutions, making it also an attractive market for UK companies. With the UK being one of Chile's top export markets in Latin America, the two countries enjoy a strong and growing trading relationship.
Trade between the two nations is increasing in value as this relationship grows. The total trade in goods and services (exports plus imports) between the UK and Chile was £1.9 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q4 2024, an increase of 9.2% from the four quarters to the end of Q4 2023.
Of this £1.9 billion, the UK exports a variety of goods to Chile, including industrial machinery, cars, beverages, and pharmaceuticals, while Chile exports ICT, Maintenance & Repair and financial services along with products like wine, fruits, pisco and other food items to the UK. In the four quarters to the end of Q4 2024, UK imports from Chile amounted to £663 million, an increase of 19.7% compared to the four quarters to the end of Q4 2023.
