Netflix reveals the series, movies and games arriving in 2025
New live events beyond WWE, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, and NFL on Christmas Day, will be of paramount importance for the streaming platform in 2025.

"No matter what you're eagerly anticipating this year, it's impossible to be fully prepared for what's coming on Netflix," Bela Bajaria, Director of Content at Netflix, stated in the company's annual presentation of movies, series, and games coming in 2025.
The event that took place at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles featured special guests such as WWE superstars CM Punk and Rhea Ripley, Guillermo del Toro, Ben Affleck, John Mulaney, Tina Fey, and the Duffer brothers. It was simultaneously broadcast live in 12 countries where local events took place.
In the words of Bajaria: "With more than 700 million people watching, we cannot be just one thing. We need to be the best version of everything", from television series and movies to games. By sharing the highlights of the slate of new releases and announcements, she predicted that 2025 could be the most important year in the history of Netflix.
"WHAT WILL BE THE SERIES AND MOVIES THAT WILL IMPACT THIS 2025?"
New movies like Frankenstein by Oscar® winner, Guillermo del Toro, a project he has been waiting 50 years to make. "Over the decades, the character has merged with my soul in such a way that it has become an autobiography. There is nothing more personal than this," said Guillermo del Toro in a video message. And, RIP, a police thriller starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. Affleck said the film is "a really fun and engaging journey that keeps you guessing."
New comedies included The Four Seasons by Tina Fey, an adaptation of the 1981 film written by Alan Alda. Fey said they should assemble a cast of beloved comedy actors who could create the same warm and human vibe as the original.
New non-fiction titles that go beyond the current Netflix listing of essential dating shows and sports series that show the reality behind the scenes, and which will include docu-series like The Perfect Band and social experiments like Million Dollar Secret.
Bajaria also announced that, in the future, members will be able to vote live from their screens, which will open up new opportunities.
New live events beyond WWE, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, and NFL on Christmas Day. Bajaria announced that TUDUM, the global fan event, will be broadcast live from Los Angeles on May 31, and "We Are All Live" with John Mulaney, a unique new weekly late show, will premiere live this March 12. "We will be live worldwide without delay. We will never be relevant. We will never be your news source. We will always be reckless," said Mulaney.

Prestigious new series including Death by Lightning by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, Day Zero starring Robert De Niro, Black Rabbit with Jason Bateman and Jude Law as leads and executive producers, and The Beast in Me featuring Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys.
THE RETURN OF STRANGER THINGS, MERLINA AND THE SQUID GAME.
2025 will also see the return of favorites including three of our biggest shows of all time u2014 Stranger Things, Merlina and Squid Game. Bajaria revealed that Merlina recently finished its production, and will premiere later this year. She also announced that the final season of Squid Game will premiere on June 27.

Speaking about the last season of Stranger Things, co-creator Ross Duffer said: "This is our biggest and most ambitious season yet". His brother Matt added: "At the same time, we believe it's our most personal story. It was very intense and emotional to film, for us and for our actors".
The Duffer brothers also spoke about two new shows they will be executive producing in 2026: The Boroughs and Something Very Bad is Going to Happen. "We will be on Netflix, which has been our home for the last 10 years," said Ross. "We couldn't ask for better partners. If you want to tell original stories like we do, this is really the place to be."
Finally, games offer fans a way to further delve into their favorite worlds. With Squid Game: Frenzy on track to become the most downloaded game on Netflix, members can expect to see even more games in 2025 based on shows they love, from Ginny and Georgia, and Sweet Magnolias to Love is Blind and Heaven for Two. Bajaria also announced that Netflix will be the exclusive home of the iconic WWE 2K video games on mobile devices starting later this year.
"We are not just one thing. We are the best in film, television, documentaries, stand-up, animation, and live events, and we do it in 50 languages. We're not afraid to make big bets on compelling voices and new ideas, whether it's a plot twist, an original story, or a great live moment. That's what Netflix is about. Bold choices. Creativity. Surprises. Fandom. Entertaining the world. That's what keeps our members coming back week after week, month after month, year after year. And that's what we will do in 2025," Bajaria concluded at the end of the presentation.
