ChucaoTech wins PwC Innovation 2024 Award with their nanobubbles

In the Emerging Company Category 2024, ChucaoTech was recognized for the development of a high-efficiency nanobubble generator.

As a way to encourage innovative practices that contribute to competitiveness in the country, the 12th version of the PwC Chile Innovation 2024 Award was held in Tanica, where Anglo American was distinguished as the Consolidated Company and ChucaoTech as the Emerging Company.

In the Emerging Business Category 2024, ChucaoTech was recognized for the development of a high-efficiency nanobubble generator to improve agricultural, aquacultural, and mining productivity. This innovative device revitalizes soil, water, and minerals through the injection of oxygen nanobubbles.

ChucaoTech's co-founder and General Manager, José Pablo Puga, appreciated the recognition, stating that it will be a significant boost to showcase what they are doing in terms of local innovation, as well as in their internationalization plans and new processes.

Meanwhile, in the Established Company Category 2024, the award goes to Anglo American for their "Dehydrated Hydraulic Stack Tailings" (HDS) technology that allows for higher water recovery, increased compaction and surface stability, and rapid environmental remediation of the land.

The CEO of Anglo American in Chile, Patricio Hidalgo, while expressing gratitude for this Award, said that "it's extremely important for Price to lead this kind of recognition because it encourages investment in innovation, greatly motivates teams to continue challenging themselves in the way they do things, especially in industries that need to innovate, to make processes more productive, more competitive, and more sustainable with their environment and the earth".

The activity featured the participation of the Minister of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation, Aisén Etcheverry; the Senior Partner of PwC Chile, Renzo Corona; the Rector of the University of Development, Federico Valdés; among other personalities from the corporate, academic and innovative ecosystem.

The Senior Partner of PwC Chile, Renzo Corona, indicated that "to achieve the development of the country and companies, we must learn to do things in a different way," he pointed out. "Dare to innovate, dare to think outside the box," he expressed before more than 110 guests.

He also emphasized that the original spirit of this recognition is to help highlight and amplify innovation in the country and the companies that carry innovation in their DNA.

On her part, the Minister of Science, Aisén Etcheverry, stated that in Chile we are particularly innovative and this has allowed us to develop public policies that have endured over time. She also pointed out that there is a common vision between the public and private sectors regarding the importance of innovating to contribute to the country's development. Innovation is a collective project, she indicated.

The Rector of the Development University, Federico Valdés, maintained that "innovation is the main engine of growth" and it is not only a "comparative advantage but a necessity". He acknowledged that innovating in Chile "is not simple", but asked to "not give up in the face of adversity".
