Call for Start-Up Chiles BIG 8: Technology-Based Ventures Sought
Corfos public accelerator will be accepting applications until May 7, for its Build, Ignite and Growth acceleration programs.
Start-Up Chile, Corfo’s public accelerator, has started a new application process for its BIG 8 generation, which includes the Build, Ignite and Growth acceleration programs, with the aim of supporting technology-based ventures with high growth potential.
Applications are open until May 7 for startups from all over Chile and from anywhere in the world, who, if selected, will receive equity-free co-financing, connections and intensive acceleration work for at least 4 months.
PROGRAM FOR BIG 8
The BIG 8 generation will begin its acceleration program in September. In addition to co-financing, the selected companies will be able to access other benefits, such as physical space to work (cowork), advice from the Start-Up Chile Mentor Network and the possibility of connecting with large companies for early feedback, business opportunities and collaboration.

Three Programs
Start-Up Chile offers three program alternatives for startups, depending on the stage of development in which they are.
- Build: 4-month program that offers $15 million in co-financing to support the acceleration of early-stage startups, i.e., startups that have everything from a validated idea to an initial prototype.
- Ignite: also 4 months, which provides a fund of $30 million and is aimed at those startups that have a minimum viable product and seek to achieve product-market fit.
- Growth: This program is for companies that are in the stage of expanding their business and raising capital. Its duration extends for 8 months and commits support of $75 million.
How to Apply
Applications are now available in www.startupchile.org and www.corfo.cl until next Tuesday, May 7 at 1:00 p.m. In addition, with the aim of resolving doubts and queries, the accelerator opened registrations for two new webinars next Thursday, April 25 (in English) and Friday, April 26 (in Spanish) at 11:00 a.m.
To encourage female participation in the ecosystem, Start-Up Chile has a series of measures as part of its Female Founder Factor strategy. Among them, that at least 50% of the projects selected from Build are led by women, and that the entrepreneurs of Ignite and Growth can access a higher percentage of co-financing from Corfo (90% and 60%, respectively).
“This new call is an opportunity for innovative companies to develop and grow their projects from Chile. Ventures from all over the world and from various industries are welcome here, which have in common the use of technology as an engine of change for the well-being of people and for diversified economic development. We especially hope to receive more female entrepreneurs to continue promoting the presence of women in the ecosystem,” said the CEO of Start-Up Chile, Carmen Contreras.
